Unquenchable fire
Fire that no one can put out until it has consumed what was given to it — its result, not its duration, is the point
Where Scripture defines it
“...than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:” (Mark 9:43)
Confirmed at Jeremiah 17:27
But if ye will not hearken unto me... then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
Confirmed at 2 Chronicles 36:19
And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem... — the fire Jerusalem was told would not be quenched burned out.
Confirmed at Malachi 4:1
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
